ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The Work SA Programme affords young people the opportunity to explore South Africa while imparting skills and expertise in much needed developing communities. Not only do applicants get to immerse themselves in local culture, but explore areas such as the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town.

 

PROGRAMME OPTIONS

• 7 days – all tours

• 2 days – 2 tours

• 2 days – no tours

 

7 DAYS – ALL TOURS OPTION

• Backpacker style accommodation during orientation week (7 nights excluding meals)

• 5 Day orientation programme including walking tour, Cape Point tour, Winelands tour, Hermanus tour

• Drumming session

 

2 DAYS – 2 TOURS OPTION

2 Nights backpacker style accommodation (excluding meals)

• 2 Day orientation programme including walking tour, Robben Island tour and job information workshop

 

2 DAYS – NO TOURS OPTION

2 Nights backpacker style accommodation (excluding meals)

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Students and recent graduates
  • MUST be able to converse in English
  • 18-25 years old
  • Acceptance will be dependent on issuing officer at the local home affairs office in applicant’s home country
  • Visas may NOT be extended

 

ARRIVAL DATES

  • 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month

 

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • 12 month Visa (depends on validity of Visa issued in home country)
  • Orientation booklet with information relevant to South Africa
  • Transfer from the airport to the SASTS House
  • Full support from SASTS while on the programme
  • Access to email, internet and mail holding facility at the SASTS House
  • Contribution to school transport
  • Travel advice and assistance with tour bookings

  • Meals during orientation days
  • Accommodation and job placements
  • Airport shuttle back to airport after complexion of programme
