Our Social Welfare Programme is not for the faint of heart. You will either be placed at an orphanage, a safe home for abused children, or a home for physically and mentally challenged children. Needless to say it takes a very special type of person to be able to deal with the almost unimaginable circumstances these children have had to endure and the sad stories you will be told.
The abused children at the safe home are typically very vulnerable and scared due to the traumas they have faced and the things that they have seen that no child should ever have to see. These children need a lot of love and understanding and most of all they need a role model.
The physically and mentally challenged children live in a home that is in constant need of volunteers. Many of them have been placed there because their families either do not have the means or the emotional strength to take care of them, and some of them do not get any visits from a familiar face.
This is the sad reality for many children in South Africa and that is why we need you to give up some of your time and tend to them. Should you decide to volunteer for our Social Welfare Programme, you will be responsible for feeding and clothing younger children, helping kids with homework and generally creating a place where they can feel comfortable to open up to love and feel safe from harm.
