At SASTS we realise and appreciate that it can be a daunting prospect to leave your home and travel to a new country thousands of kilometres away. That’s why we have created an exclusive orientation week for you in Cape Town before you begin your volunteer placement. This gives you a chance to wind down after your long journey and adapt to the South African way of life. The week includes some of the best tours the city has to offer such as Cape Point, Township, Winelands, Hermanus. Information sessions at our SASTS offices in Cape Town will brief you on all aspects of living and volunteering in South Africa.
Our SASTS Volunteer South Africa staff will be with you all the way during your stay. We are as passionate about volunteer work as you are and will liaise with you throughout your stay to make sure you are getting as much out of your time here as possible. Working in a new country, often with Third World facilities offers many challenges and our dedicated team of staff will be glad to provide you with support and advice. We know you will have your colleagues and South African host family – but we would like to consider ourselves your second South African Family!
